India’s ‘Premier Soccer League‘ looks set to be a potentially awful mix of completely past it money-hungry former stars and inexperienced and not particularly great Indian players (India are ranked 158th in the world).

Chinese Super League

Or the Chinese “Super” League if you prefer. Established in just 2004, the league is one of the most up-and-coming leagues in the world of football. In the last few years the league has made big transfers signing players from all over the world. Clubs in the league have talks with many more to this day, with Shanghai Shenhua signing Nicolas Anelka in January, with his former Chelsea team mate, Didier Drogba heavily linked with joining him. The league is becoming a bit FLAIR, in my opinion.

Opinion: Homosexuality and Homophobia in football

It’s over 20 years since Justin Fashanu came out as Britain’s thus far only openly gay professional footballer, and close to 14 years since he took his own life. He was also black, and I think it’s fair to say that the sport’s and indeed society’s attitude to race has improved markedly in the days since his career, which began in 1978. But why haven’t we seen the same changes in the game’s attitude to sexuality?
